Exciting news for Marathon and Manitouwadge! The two communities are partnering to share a Fire Chief position starting in 2026, strengthening collaboration and ensuring top-notch fire services for residents.

On November 25th, the Town of Marathon received confirmation that the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development has issued a No Board Report regarding negotiations with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 2, which represents employees working in the Town’s recreation facilities and municipal cleaning services.

Please note that the dumping station at Penn Lake Park will close for the season at 4:30 PM on Sunday, October 12, 2025. 

Final tax bills remain due on October 31, 2025, despite the ongoing postal strike. For payment options and information, please call 807-229-1340  or email payroll@marathon.ca.

Town facilities will be closed, including Town Hall, the Golf Course, Waste Transfer Station and the Complex.
