The Town of Marathon will begin Phase 2 of our three-year road repair program on June 5, 2026 (weather permitting). ☀️
This important work helps extend the life of our existing asphalt, improve road conditions, and reduce future maintenance costs across our community. 🛣️✅
When: Thursday May 21, 2026 – Two (2) “Come and Go” drop-in sessions will be held, from:
1:00 pm to 3:00 pm; and
5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Nominations for the 2026 Town of Marathon Municipal and School Board Election open May 1 at 9:00 a.m. and close August 21 at 2:00 p.m. (Nomination Day).
The Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) is offering a series of workshops for people thinking about running for municipal office in the October 2026 elections.
This workshop series is focused on providing insights to underrepresented candidates seeking election. Led by former municipal Councillors Steve Anderson and Jasvinder Sandhu, the 90-minute sessions will cover the following topics:

Council has officially named the road in Marathon’s new Tiny Home Subdivision Poppy Lane following the community naming process. The name honours early resident Johnny Anniuk and reflects the area’s history and connection to remembrance.
