Town of Marathon and Generation Mining Memorandum of Understanding

MARATHON, ON – The Town of Marathon and Generation Mining Limited are pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), formalizing a shared commitment to continued communication, collaboration and cooperation as the Marathon Copper-Palladium Project progresses.

The MOU provides a framework for the Town and Generation Mining to work together on matters of mutual interest such as economic development, infrastructure, community services, and housing, and to maintain open lines of communication regarding the project and its potential implications for the Marathon community.

“This MOU reflects the importance of maintaining the strong working relationship between the Town of Marathon and Generation Mining that has been developed over the last number of years. We look forward to continued dialogue and collaboration as we work to support development and growth opportunities for our community,” said Mayor Rick Dumas.

Generation Mining’s Marathon Copper-Palladium Project is located ten kilometres from the Town of Marathon and represents a significant proposed mining development for the region.
The Town recognizes the importance of maintaining strong relationships with local industry and project proponents while ensuring that the interests of the Marathon community remain an important part of ongoing discussions.

The MOU establishes a foundation for continued cooperation and engagement between the two organizations as the project advances.
