Skating
Marathon is proud to be the hometown of Kris Wirtz , two-time Canadian Pairs Figure Skating Champion and Olympian. His achievements reflect the strong figure skating tradition rooted in our community, and the local passion for life on the ice continues to thrive today.
Whether you're taking your first glide or training to perfect your technique, the Marathon Arena provides a welcoming and supportive space for skaters of all ages and skill levels. From recreational skates to structured programs, there's something for everyone.
The arena offers regular public and family skating sessions throughout the season. For schedules, please visit our Recreation Calendar.
The Marathon Figure Skating Club is a key part of the local skating scene, offering seasonal programming that includes CanSkate, STARSkate, and other development opportunities for children and youth. The club promotes fun, skill-building, and a sense of teamwork in a positive, encouraging environment.
To learn more about programs, registration, and upcoming events, visit the Marathon Figure Skating Club.
