Pebble Beach

Pounding waves and shifting ice polish the colourful rocks that line Pebble Beach for over two kilometers. Each spring the lake modifies the display by pushing the rocks up into terraces or spreading them in an even layer, before rearranging the driftwood seating. Enjoy the view from the parking area at the end of Howe Street off Steven's Avenue, or lumber down the steep trail that is to the left. Wear sturdy shoes as walking on the cobbles is difficult. While you are here, enjoy the playground and picnic area. As enticing as they may be, please leave the rocks here for others to enjoy. Watch for new developments in the next few years as Pebble Beach is equipped with new look-outs and undergoes planting to prevent erosion and enhance the view.
