Zoning By-Law in Progress

The Town of Marathon is currently working with WSP to update our Zoning By-law. These documents are being revised to better guide future growth and development in our community.

The Committee is empowered to perform such duties as prescribed by the Planning Act, such as minor variance applications to the Town's Zoning By-Law and exercises consent granting authority.

To apply for a minor variance fill out the Minor Variance Application Form and bring it into the Town Office.

The Zoning By-law manages the land use within Town by indicating:

  • how land can be used; and
  • the required standards for that use.

These standards include lot size and dimensions, setbacks from property lines, building location, building type, and parking requirements.
