Electrical Infrastructure Work at Marathon Golf Course

The Town of Marathon is advising the public that electrical infrastructure upgrades will be taking place at the Marathon Golf Course this week beginning today. This work is necessary to improve reliability and performance of the irrigation system that supports course maintenance and turf health.

Summary of Work

  • Supplying and installing approximately 550 metres of NMWU 2C12 underground electrical cabling to three irrigation satellite locations across the course.
  • Connecting the new cabling to branch circuit breakers located in the pump house and maintenance garage, and completing all required electrical connections at the satellite stations.
  • Horizontally boring beneath the roadway at the cart compound intersection to pass the new cable under the asphalt without cutting or disturbing the road surface.

There is no anticipated disruption to regular golf course operations. The golf course will remain open during the work; certain areas may be temporarily marked or restricted while underground cabling is installed.
