Roads
The Works & Operations Department is responsible for ensuring the safety, accessibility, and upkeep of Marathon’s roadways. We provide a combination of administrative and field operations in several key areas:
- Road Maintenance: Includes road replacements, line painting, crack sealing, sweeping, pothole patching, grading, and dust control.
- Sidewalk & Curb Maintenance: Regular upkeep of sidewalks and curbs.
- Ditch & Culvert Installation and Maintenance: Maintaining roadside ditches and installing culverts as needed.
- Safety Activities: Includes street sign and street light maintenance to ensure public safety.
- Snow Clearing: Snow plowing and removal on roads, sidewalks, back lanes, and municipal parking lots
Road Management Plan
We follow Minimum Maintenance Standards to ensure roads and pathways are maintained to an optimal level, promoting safety and accessibility for all residents.
Winter Parking Restrictions
From November 1st to March 31st, no vehicle may be parked on any municipal street between 2:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Violators are subject to penalties under the Highway Traffic Act. Please be aware of the winter parking regulations to help with snow removal and road maintenance.
