A favourite hide-away for residents and a few lucky travellers, this wild and scenic falls is surprisingly accessible giving you the opportunity to see and touch its fresh, cool running waters.
A nice stop on the Lake Superior Circle Tour.
A short eighteen kilometers west of Marathon, Mink Creek has no signage to indicate its presence, just minutes off of Highway 17, near Coldwell.
How to find it:
Waypoint: 48.7705N 86.5125W
Pull over in the small parking area on the north side of the highway
Then cross the highway where a small trail on the south side leads down to the falls.
This private spot is perfect for a picnic, a place to drop a fishing line, paint or sketch or simply enjoy the smooth warm rock bed as you take in the view. The trail is a fairly steep up and down to get to the bottom of the waterfall.
