Labour Adjustment
The Marathon Labour Adjustment Committee was formed to assist people being laid off due to the closure of Marathon Pulp Inc. (MPI) to move toward suitable re-employment or other satisfactory options. One of their functions is to operate an Action Centre to provide services such as job search assistance, outreach to affected workers, personal support in dealing with the stress of job loss, financial counselling, etc.
Announcements
In partnership with the Schreiber/Terrace Bay Adult Learning Centre, E-Channel Learning is now available in Marathon. This initiative funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities offers basic training sessions as well as advanced applications. The project offers a variety of literacy and numeracy programs to adult learners and best of all it's free. For more information view our posters (.doc) (.pdf) or stop by the Action Centre.
