Wilson Memorial General Hospital
Marathon is serviced by a modern hospital on Peninsula Road, phone: (807)229-1740, that houses 25 beds and employs approximately 150 people.

Marathon Family Health Team
Marathon Family Health Team staffs 9 physicians, and has a full administrative team in their clinic office at 26 Peninsula Road, phone: (807)229-3243.

Two dental offices operate in Marathon, as well as a chiropractic clinic.

Superior North Emergency Medical Service operates a base in Marathon and has 6 paramedics on staff.

District Health Unit
A branch office of the Thunder Bay District Health Unit is also located in Marathon at 26 Peninsula Road, phone: (807)229-1820.  In response to the health needs of the community, the Health Unit provides health information and prevention-related clinical services to people of all ages, advocates for healthy public policy, protects citizens by investigating reportable diseases (e.g., H1N1 flu virus), and upholds regulations that apply to public health.

Transportation to Medical Appointments
For seniors living in Marathon, the Seniors' Services Van is available to take you to appointments in town - for more information, see the Seniors' Services section of this website.  For appointments in Thunder Bay, there is MedXpress, a shuttle service designed to improve access to specialized health services for individuals living between Manitouwadge and Thunder Bay, travelling 3 days a week.
