Reliable ServicesThe department operates out of its fire hall located at 6 Hemlo Drive where it offers these services to the residents of Marathon:
The department has six of its members that have completed the required course of study as laid out by Ontario's Office of The Fire Marshall, in the Company Officers Training Program, an exhaustive 4 year process. The department is also fully compliant with the internationally recognized incident management system, in order to offer to the residents of Marathon the highest quality of professional fire protection. The department is involved with many fire safety programs such as Learn Not to Burn, Older and Wiser, and Risk Watch, to name a few. Public Education is carried out throughout the year by presentations at local malls, schools, service clubs, and during Fire Prevention week each October. Smoke Alarm and batteries for them are provided by the Marathon Volunteer Firefighter's Association. The department will also provide free home fire safety inspections for residents, and will install smoke detectors if requested, for residents as well.
