Marathon Arts and Culture

Marathon offers a host of art and cultural events throughout the year.  In addition, our local museum allows us to turn back the hands of time, and experience our community at a time of discovery and great expansion.

imageOur community has always been very supportive of our local artists., and we are pleased to feature the Marathon Art Group who have a display in the loft at the Visitor Information Centre. The Marathon area has many idyllic, scenic areas that can inspire artists of all ages.  The parks in this area were painted by the Group of Seven for their natural beauty.

Pukaskwa National Park will have 27 Artists in Residence over the course of the summer from June 24-October 5, 2011. If you are in the area, drop by, meet the artists, and check out their exhibits in the Hattie Cove Visitor Centre.  Artists will be available to chat during their stays and some will be offering workshops.  For more information visit Pukaskwa's website or join the Friends of Pukaskwa Facebook page to stay up to date.
