Appointments to Boards and Committees
Residents who are interested in sitting on one of the Town’s various commissions/boards/committees to submit an application to the undersigned:

Peninsula Golf Course Advisory Committee
The role of the Peninsula Golf Course Advisory Committee is to provide oversight advice and consultation to ensure the decisions made are well informed and deliver positive results to all of our golfers and relevant stakeholders. To view the Terms of Reference, click here (.doc) or (.pdf).
Parks and Recreation Commission
The Marathon Parks & Recreation Commission is an advisory committee to Council responsible for the development and promotion of programs and facilities to meet the leisure needs of all Marathon residents. The Commission shall encourage and support all interest groups, organizations, agencies, institutions or individuals that participate in – or contribute to – leisure services in Marathon. Committee of Adjustments
The Committee is empowered to perform such duties as prescribed by the Planning Act, such as minor variance applications to the Town’s Zoning by-Law and exercises consent granting authority.
Property Standards Appeal Committee
The Committee is the appeal body with respect to orders to comply issued under the Town’s Property Standards by-law.
The Board shall seek to provide a comprehensive and efficient public library service that reflects the community’s unique needs.
Police Services Board
The role of the Marathon Police Services Board is to oversee the provision of the police services in Marathon. The Board is the civilian trustee of the public interest as it pertains to police services in the community. The Police Services Board is governed by the Ontario Police Services Act, R.S.O., 1990.
Marathon Cemetery Committee
The Committee shall focus on beautification and fundraising for the Marathon Cemetery and Marathon Historical Cemetery. Annual input will be sought on the Cemetery’s fees and charges and any capital project that may arise with regard to the Town’s cemeteries. Groundwater Steering Committee
