2010 Municipal and School Board Elections

Municipal Elections in Ontario are governed under the Ontario Municipal Elections Act, 1996 and are held every four (4) years.  Effective 2010, Voting Day for regular municipal elections is the fourth Monday in October with the next regular Municipal Election in Ontario to be held on Monday, October 25, 2010.


Municipal Elections are administered by the Municipal Clerk under the authority of the Municipal Elections Act.  Within the Town of Marathon, Municipal Elections are conducted to fill the office of Council (1 Mayor and 4 Councillors) and school board trustees.  For detailed Trustee information contact the appropriate School Board.  For a general outline of the school board trustees see the below notice.


Information regarding the municipal elections will be posted to this section of the Town of Marathon’s website on an on-going basis so please visit often to obtain the most current information.  Other mediums will be utilized to ensure all voters and candidates can access up-to-date information.
